Fostex Multitracker 280 analog tape recorder in Galiano, British Columbia for sale

Fostex Multitracker model 280.
For repair or parts , this otherwise near new Multitracker has been in house storage for decades and has very little wear but is not working as intended. It lights up, recieves signals when I plugged in a bass, the signal screen lights up and the buttons seem to work , it rewinds and forwards tape and the digital display looks to work and register this but it does not extend to engage tape to record or play.
1) Tapeheads do not exteand to record/play tape
2) One of the faders is a little stiff, not sure why
In general the lights and switches work from what I tested
I was really disappointed since it has been kept forever, I guess it had a defective soon after purchase and was shelved and the issue was forgotten over all this time.
I had been keeping it for a project but a bandmate has a Tascam that functions so I'm letting this one go to someone that can repair or salvage it
