FREE: solid wood, black IKEA table with two leaves in Galiano, British Columbia for sale

This is a great table that needs a little TLC. We bought it new from IKEA in 1992. The top got scratched (ie. you could see the wood through the black laquer finish) so I painted the top with an oil based paint. Something didn't work right, and the paint never fully cured, so the top is slightly tacky. You can fix this by removing the paint completely, or perhaps there is an agent that can be used to cure it fully (a clear varnish maybe?). When we used it, I just put a table cloth over it. The other problem with this table, is that one of the legs got broken when my son fell backwards onto the table (it was upside down, waiting to be sold). The leg is still there, and the break fits perfectly. My hubby was going to fix it, but you know how that goes... My guess is that it could actually be glued back together, but it might also require a couple of screws for good measure.
If you are a handy person, or have a bit of time on your hands, you can get a great table for nothing!
When both of the leaves are in it, it seats 10 people. Oval shaped. Otherwise it's a circle for 4 people, or a smaller oval for 6.
